Home Care Coordination
Many people prefer to live independently at home as they get older. In home care is there to ensure you are well, safe and happy at home. All in home care is now managed on a Consumer Directed Care Model. This means the client is able to choose who MANAGES their care coordination, who DELIVERS those services and WHAT services are received. We assist you to decide how to best manage your care and who are the best providers to meet your needs. These services may include the following and many many more:
Home care can be funded through Commonwealth Home Support Package (Council), Home care package (federal), private providers or a combination of all of these options.
Retirement Living Options
While most people love their new apartments or villas, it’s the lifestyle and companionship that village life is all about – and what most people really value.
Retirement villages typically attract like-minded people; people who share a common history and values, and simply enjoy each other’s company doing whatever it is that they want to do.
But the great thing about being part of a village community is that you’re free to do what you want whenever you want – from sitting in the garden reading a favourite book to joining in the weekly bridge competition.
The choice is yours!
However, please remember retirement villages are independent living units. That is most people that move into a retirement village do not need care.
If your circumstance change over time you may be able to access care while remaining in your home however, it is usually at an additional cost to the recipient.
Residential Aged Care Placements
Residential aged care is for residents that are no longer able to manage at home without some care and support, as opposed to home care where care is provided in your own home.
Residential aged care is also known as a “nursing home” or “aged care facility”.
If you or your loved one need assistance with day-to-day activities or health/nursing care, moving into residential aged care may be positive option.
Aged care homes are the best way for seniors to receive the help and support they need – along with the added bonus of staff on hand 24/7 and the companionship of other residents. You or your loved one can move into residential aged care permanently or for a short stay (known as residential respite care).
Nursing and care staff in residential aged care homes are there to assist you or your loved one with day-to-day activities from cooking, cleaning & laundry, to dressing, showering, medication management and 24-hour care if needed.
Residential aged care homes in Australia are required to be approved and accredited by the Australian Government and are run by private companies, charities and other not-for-profit groups.
Australia’s aged care system is one of the best in the world and aims to ensure that every single older person is able to receive high quality support and care.
